Pal Arinsal closes its best season since joining Grandvalira Resorts

The resort records 460,788 ski days sold and grows by 9.1% in a winter marked by snowfall that has been the heaviest in the last 22 years, according to the resort’s records

The growth in visitor numbers has been accompanied by an increase in business figures in areas such as food and beverage (+9.7%) and the ski and snowboard school (+14%), as well as online sales (+21%)

Pal Arinsal closes the 2025–2026 winter season with very strong results after achieving its best campaign since joining Grandvalira Resorts in the 2022–2023 winter season. The resort has increased sales across almost all business units, a particularly significant milestone considering that this year the season was shorter and the resort operated for a total of 123 days, ten fewer than the previous season. This year Pal Arinsal reached 460,788 ski days sold, a figure representing 9.1% growth compared with last winter, with a significant improvement in performance per operating day. This growth has been reinforced by the positive performance of season pass customers, who generated nearly 6,000 additional ski days, increasing the number of Nord Pass and Andorra Pass customers by 13.76% compared with the previous winter.

The season got off to a strong start during the Immaculate Conception bank holiday weekend and consolidated one of the best Christmas periods of recent years. January maintained this positive trend and became the best in recent years, with 24% growth in revenue compared with the previous year, which had already been record-breaking. February was marked by adverse weather at weekends across Grandvalira Resorts’ stations and by the closure of the RN20 road linking Andorra with France due to a landslide, which made it more difficult for French skiers to reach the resort. However, Pal Arinsal continued to grow, albeit more moderately (+5%), while March regained momentum with a 16% increase, consolidating an exceptional season across all indicators. It was during February that the resort recorded its single-day attendance record — not only for the season but since joining Grandvalira Resorts — with 6,761 people on 15 February.

Increase in sales

Beyond growth in volume, the season has been particularly positive in terms of business quality. The resort recorded a 20.4% increase in direct-to-customer sales, strengthening its direct relationship with the end consumer. In this respect, one-day ski pass sales stand out, having grown by 15%, supported by the ease of access to the resort, which made it the least affected during periods of adverse weekend weather.

At the same time, medium-stay ski passes (between 3 and 5 days) experienced highly significant growth, with nearly 16,000 more ski days than the previous season (+11%), which had already been the best of the last five years.

The growth in activity was also accompanied by a 3.5% increase in average spend per customer, demonstrating an improvement in the value generated per visitor.

In terms of channels, online sales increased by 21%, reinforcing the commitment to digitalisation. In this respect, the implementation of the Mobile Pass has been a first step in improving the customer experience, allowing direct access to the lifts without having to go through ticket offices. Grandvalira Resorts’ stations have been pioneers in the Pyrenees in adopting this technology.

Diversification of the offer and growth by segment

The La Massana resort has also seen significant growth across different areas of its offer. Ski school services achieved 14% growth, reaffirming its position as an ideal resort for learning and enjoying the mountains as a family, with the support of the school’s experienced instructors.

The food and beverage outlets across the different sectors saw 9.7% growth in sales, a figure that confirms the strong reception of Pal Arinsal’s gastronomic proposals, especially the newest additions. In this regard, the domain has long invested every year in refurbishing these spaces to create welcoming environments that complement the experience with a varied culinary offering, where visitors can also opt for complete, high-quality meals to enjoy high-mountain cuisine.

In terms of customer profile, growth was widespread across all segments: adult customers increased by 12.7%, children by 9%, and the junior segment by 11.1%. Also notable is the growth of the non-skier segment, with a 16.7% increase, attracted by the complementary offer of food and beverage and alternative activities, consolidating the resort model as a comprehensive mountain destination.

Meanwhile, Nord Pass season pass sales increased by 9%. This rise reflects the strong reception of the product among the resort’s regular users, who with this pass can enjoy unlimited access to both Pal Arinsal and Ordino Arcalís during the winter season, as well as the Bike Park facilities in summer. In this respect, it is worth remembering that Nord Pass and Andorra Pass season passes are already available through the resorts’ websites at a promotional price, which will only be available until 30 June or until the 3,000 available units sell out.

Abundant snowfall throughout a record season

The season has been marked by abundant snowfall, thanks to which the resort has been able to offer snow depths of around two metres almost every week. In fact, this has been the snowiest season of at least the last 22 years, according to the resort’s records, with a total of 540 centimetres accumulated across the ski area, which is also 34% more than last winter’s total. This situation has considerably benefited visitor numbers at Pal Arinsal, a resort that traditionally performs especially well in snowier seasons, mainly thanks to its easy access via the La Massana and Arinsal gondolas, which make it highly attractive for family groups.

This has also allowed the resort, since January, to maintain a slope and lift opening rate of over 90%, with most days reaching 100% of facilities operational through to the end of the season.

At the same time, the increase in snowfall has also meant that the snowmaking network has not had to produce as much snow, reducing the volume of water transformed into snow to 218,000 m³, 35% less than last season.

Overall customer satisfaction increases

Another consequence of increased snowfall and having 100% of slopes and facilities operational has been overall customer satisfaction. According to surveys carried out by an external consultancy, Pal Arinsal achieved an excellent 8.91 overall customer satisfaction score this winter, rising by more than two tenths compared with last season. In addition, the resort’s recommendation index also increased by one point, reaching 95%, while the overall ratings for the ski and snowboard school (8.93) and food and beverage (8.18) continue to remain excellent.

In terms of customer origin, Pal Arinsal continues to maintain visitors from Spain as its main market, accounting for 53% of skiers, with Catalonia (26%) as the leading autonomous community, followed by Valencia, Aragon and the Balearic Islands (16%). Customers from more distant international markets grew by 10% compared with previous seasons, with those from the United Kingdom and Ireland (17%) being the most numerous, representing the second-largest market presence at the La Massana resort, while Portuguese visitors positioned themselves as the fourth market of the season with 10% of customers. The closure of the RN20 reduced the share of French visitors at Pal Arinsal to 3%. Finally, the Andorran market once again represented 13%.

Comapedrosa Andorra World Cup and summer season

In the sporting sphere, one of the most important moments was the staging of the 15th edition of the ISMF Ski Mountaineering World Cup Comapedrosa Andorra. The event welcomed a total of 108 athletes from 20 different countries around the world. The Sprint had to be cancelled due to the heavy snowfall the previous night, which made it impossible to prepare the course in time, but the traditional Vertical Race was successfully held, a unique event highly valued by the athletes and very attractive for spectators, which this year included a route featuring a very intense climb of nearly 700 metres of elevation gain.

From now on, Pal Arinsal is focusing its efforts on preparing the summer season, a period in which the resort becomes the epicentre of benchmark mountain biking in the Pyrenees. The Bike Park and Bike World will open on 20 June, coinciding with the staging of the ANDBike Festival, firing the starting gun on a summer marked by major events. The Bike Park, internationally recognised for the quality and variety of its downhill and cross-country circuits, will once again place Andorra on the global map by hosting a new Mountain Bike World Cup from 9 to 12 July. At the same time, Bike World will offer spaces and activities for all audiences — from beginner zones to e-bike circuits and specialist services — consolidating Pal Arinsal as a complete cycling hub of international prestige.
