Grandvalira Resorts closes the summer season with more visitors and a warm reception for the new features

Overall attendance rises by 4% compared to last summer season thanks to favourable weather and the good reception of the new range of activities

Pal Arinsal grows both in the Bike Park and in summer activities, while Grandvalira records positive progress in Canillo, Soldeu and Encamp, and Ordino Arcalís consolidates its leadership with more than 60,000 visitors

Grandvalira Resorts closes the summer season with a positive balance and visitor numbers 4% higher than last summer across all the resorts. Favourable weather during much of the summer months, with fewer bouts of rainfall than last year, has helped to increase activity in the different areas of Grandvalira, Pal Arinsal and Ordino Arcalís. Added to this context is visitors’ strong response to this year’s new features in the different sectors and the consolidation of offerings linked to family tourism, cycling and mountain activities.

Family-focused new features boost the summer in Grandvalira

In Canillo, the Mon(t) Magic Family Park has increased both visitor numbers and average spend per customer compared with last summer. The season was marked by the launch of two new activities promoted by the Canillo local council, the Soldeu Maze and the Big Jump Park in the El Tarter sector, which in their first summer welcomed more than 4,000 visitors combined. Figures that confirm the warm reception of two offerings that this year began their positioning process among family audiences.

It has also been a positive summer in Soldeu, where Golf Soldeu recorded a notable increase both in the number of club members and in visitor numbers to the course. This strong performance confirms the consolidation of this sport as one of the benchmark offerings within >Grandvalira’s summer programme. It should be noted that Golf Soldeu will remain open until 27 September.

In the Encamp sector, the Funicamp recorded a 1% increase in visitors, reaching 13,208 users, a figure that is 7% higher than last summer if the journeys generated last summer by La Purito’s arrival at Cortals d’Encamp are not counted. Also noteworthy were the 1,131 people who took the Funicamp on 8 September, Meritxell Day, representing a peak in same-day users in recent years. Especially positive was the performance of the 4x4 bus excursions, with more than 3,000 users, exceeding last year’s visitors by more than 10%. Added to this were visits to the Orri del Cubil, with more than a thousand people up to the end of August; children’s catch-and-release fishing at Lake Cubil, with half a thousand participants; and visits to the Orri d’Encenrera, with around a hundred people. All these activities were promoted by the Tourism Department of the Encamp local council in collaboration with Grandvalira.

One of the summer’s new features in Encamp was also the unveiling of the Petjades Enlairades sculpture and the new children’s trail Les Petjades de l’Ossa, which has sparked notable interest among family audiences. During its first summer, approximately 1,800 passports were handed out to complete the route, a figure that reflects the strong response to an activity designed to discover the mountain environment in a fun way.

In Grau Roig, the Llac de Pessons has continued to be one of the main points of interest during the summer months, complemented by the Grandvalira Mountain Guides experiences to discover the high mountains. Finally, the Grandvalira Bike Trails, the network of 111 km of bike circuits, especially e-bike, continues to grow, and more and more two-wheel enthusiasts are discovering the routes spread across the sectors of Canillo, Soldeu, El Tarter, Encamp and Grau Roig. This year, in addition, 9 km of routes were added with the Cabirol Loop, a family-friendly green circuit located at Pla d’Espiolets; the Molleres Loop, at Forn de Canillo; and the Tamarro Flow Trail, a blue trail of nearly 6 km that connects the Llosada area with the base of the El Tarter sector via a smooth, accessible descent.

Pal Arinsal keeps cycling activity on the rise

At Pal Arinsal, cycling has once again been one of the season’s major drivers. The Bike Park has consolidated last summer’s good results with further growth of 3.4%, while overall summer activities increased by 7.8%, including those of Bike World, the space the resort launched in the summer of 2025 to cover all learning processes on a bike. Among the offerings with the most notable performance is also the Bike School, which strengthens the resort’s training side and its role in introducing new participants and building a base of future bikers. It should be noted that the Pal Arinsal Bike Park will remain open at weekends until 12 October.

Summer has also once again placed Pal Arinsal at the centre of international MTB with the 11th edition of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series in the country, which recorded 26% more spectators than in 2025. Good weather during the competition days also contributed to this higher turnout. The event also arrived in an especially significant summer after the continuation of Pal Arinsal on the World Cup calendar for the next three years was confirmed, reaffirming the resort as one of the circuit’s fixed venues.

The sporting calendar was rounded off with other events such as the MoraBanc Clàssica, the Andorra Epic Pyrenees and the Trofeu Warriors.

Ordino Arcalís consolidates visitor numbers

Ordino Arcalís has welcomed more than 60,000 visitors between 6 June and this Sunday, 13 September, with stable performance compared to last year, thereby strengthening the leadership in visitor numbers achieved in recent seasons. In addition, this year the average spend per customer has increased by 8.15% compared to summer 2025, a figure that confirms this summer’s positive results. The Tristaina Solar Viewpoint has remained one of the resort’s main attractions, and since its inauguration in summer 2021 it has already exceeded half a million visitors, with more than 520,000 having visited the spectacular structure on the Peyreguils peak. It should be noted that access to the Tristaina Solar Viewpoint will remain open until 1 November.

At the same time, the activities run by the Grandvalira Mountain Guides at Ordino Arcalís have been very well received, especially experiences linked to observing astronomical phenomena, such as the Solar Mountain and the solar eclipse in August, the latter with more than 250 people in attendance.

On the other hand, the Refugi de Sorteny has also recorded positive figures this summer, with more than 1,500 overnight stays, representing growth of 10% compared to summer 2025.

Gastronomy accompanies the season’s positive trend

Catering has followed the same positive trend as mountain activities, and the ski areas have once again established themselves this summer as a gastronomic destination. The Wine & Meat Bar by Jean Leon in Soldeu, the dining options at the Forn de Canillo, the Racó de Solanelles in Encamp, and the Refugi del Llac de Pessons in Grau Roig have increased their number of customers over the summer. Along the same lines, the Xiringuito de la Caubella in Pal and the restaurant of the Coma in Ordino Arcalís have likewise recorded growth compared to last summer.

With this assessment, Grandvalira Resorts is consolidating its offering beyond the winter season, with an increasingly diverse summer proposal that combines family activities, cycling, sport, gastronomy and discovering the high mountains. The positive evolution in visitor numbers and the response to this year’s new additions reinforce the commitment to continue developing experiences that make it possible to enjoy the resorts and Andorran territory all year round.
